The SPFS Programme Innovation Fund has awarded three research grants following the second call for proposals in July 2015.

1.  "Hybrid Organic-Silicon Lasers", submitted by Prof William Gillin from QMUL
2.  "Radio, Optical and Digital design for UHD transceivers", submitted by Prof Andrew Ellis from Aston University
3.  "High Capacity Real Time 4k Video Transmission using Silicon Photonics", submitted by Prof Peter Wilson from Bath University
